ANCHORAGE Anchorage has a depth of 30 mtrs and is a good holding ground.

(D) 22° 37:58′ N; 069° 42:06′ E

Anchorage ground has a depth of 30 meters and is a good holding ground throughout the year.

APPROACH Twelve operations multipurpose berths with drafts upto 15.5 meters suitable for berthing post – Panamax, kamsarmax and Capesize vessels.

West basin berths have 17.5m drafts.

TIDES High tide for every 12 hours
TIDAL CURRENT The current in the anchorage are very strong, and the current strength is about 3 – 4 knots and sets in the direction 253 in ebb tide and 073 in flood tide.

Mundra port is an all-weather port.

WEATHER The climatic condition at Mundra is tropical and dry. Mundra falls under the scanty rainfall zone and gets most of its rainfall between July & September which generally does not affect port activities seriously.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
THE BASIS ON THE SOUTERN SIDE OF NAVINAL ISLAND AND ADJACENT TO EXISTING MUNDRA MULTI PURPOSE TERMINAL WILL BE DEVELOPED IN A PHASED MANNER. PRESENTLY 810 METRES OF BERTH LENGTH HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED. FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF 550 METRES OF ADDITIONAL BERTH LENGTH IS UNDER PROGRESS. THE NEW BERTH LENGTH SHALL BE IN LINE AND TO THE WEST OF THE PRESENT BERTHS.
